OD is Cash only. Boo.
Anyone have any experience using “apple pay” for these?
I’m going to pay for a new iphone 6 in order to do this deal on apple pay but I don’t want to get duped if I cannot earn back the cost of my phone via this deal.
Sign up for a serve or bluebird account. You can google them or use the links above. I have heard rumors of people having other methods or accounts- some folks seem to even know where to buy affordable money orders- but I have not found any of these YET myself. The serve account costs more but has more locations (like some Rite-Aid stores) that you can reload the card at. The Bluebird account is free but has fewer locations (Walmart works). For a serve account, I’d recommend the “free reloads” version. This costs $4.95 per month but reloading the card is free which will be needed. Some people have older accounts that have better deals but this is the scoop for newbies like you and I. You won’t be able to load Visa/MC/Amex gift cards until your account is registered online.
Once you have an account and have the gift cards, go into the store that you’ve found that serves the card- like Walmart. Ask at the register to load money onto your serve/bluebird card. Notice your gift card says debit on it. You are now treating this gift card like a debit card. If the cashier doesn’t know what to do- tell them it’s like a debit card. When it asks for the pin for your debit card it is the last 4 digits of the 16 digit “credit card” number on the front. I’m new to this all and it worked for me.
After your money is loaded onto your serve/bluebird card you can go into your account and settup transfers to your bank account, or payment s back to your credit card, or withdraw up to $750 daily at an ATM (use their site to find ones that they won’t charge a fee at!)
Creating this “loop” to rack up what looks like charges on your credit card account but is actually just cycling funds in a circle is referred to as manufactured spending.
Cheers
Is this a new thing? I always assumed this was available.
Can you please explain on how to use a prepaid debit account to load VISA Gift Cards ?
