Aegis Financial agreed to pay over $2.1 million to resolve claims that it violated federal telemarketing laws with unsolicited phone calls.
According to the class action lawsuit, Aegis bombarded consumers with unsolicited robocalls that used artificial and pre-recorded voices. The company allegedly placed thousands of these calls, in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Aegis Financial is a financial marketing organization that offers annuity, life insurance, retirement and business solutions.
Aegis Financial hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.1 million settlement to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.
