The settlement will benefit anyone who resided in Washington, was a BECU member, and at any point between Aug. 2, 2015, and July 1, 2020, incurred an overdraft fee or an NSF fee for a transaction when the amount of the ledger balance shown in BECU’s record of their account was equal to or greater than the amount of the transaction, or at any point from Aug. 2, 2013, through July 1, 2020, was charged an NSF fee on a transaction for which they had already been charged an NSF fee. According to the class action, the plaintiffs alleged BECU violated Washington law by imposing overdraft and NSF fees when members had a ledger balance — but not an available balance — that was enough to cover the transaction and by charging more than one NSF fee on a single transaction.

How To File a Claim
There is no claim form. The deadline to opt out of or object to the settlement is Aug. 9, 2021. Class Members who received a notice by mail or email do not need to do anything to receive a payment.
