Nowaday, I don’t even carry around a USB drive anymore. I save all my information online, whether they are pictures, music, or video. Burning CDs or DVDs is a waste of time. They just take up more space around my house. There are many choices online and they all have special features.
My favorite has always been gmail. You know that Google will never go broke, hence gmail will never go out of business. All the information such as word documents, I can send it to myself. However, these free accounts give you more storage data.
- XDRIVE – You get 5GB free storage with drag ‘n’ drop capability and unlimited file size/bandwidth.
- ESNIPS – 5GB free storage, file-sharing, and unlimited file size/bandwidth.
- BOXSTR – 5GB free storage with 1GB of daily bandwidth.
- MOZY – 2GB free storage and unlimited file size/bandwidth.
- BOX.NET – 1GB free storage, drag ‘n’ drop capability, and file-sharing.
- MEDIAMAX – 25GB free storage, but extremely limited when it comes to downloading.
- Humyo – 25 GB free storage, but upload is slow.
I just fired up my old XDrive account yesterday. Using it as a secondary backup for my important files in case something happens to my server. These are some good tips. Also, I’m thinking about using IDrive because they actually synchronize your data free up to 2 GB.
When you hustle — especially online — you need to always have a backup plan in case your computer crashes. Great post.
