Focus Plumbing agreed to pay $500,000 as part of a settlement to resolve claims from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that it discriminated against, harassed and retaliated against female workers.
The EEOC took legal action against Focus Plumbing in 2017, claiming the company subjected female workers to a hostile work environment that included unwanted sexual advances, sexual harassment and other wrongdoing. Women were allegedly threatened if they refused these sexual advances, while those who acquiesced to the sexual harassment were offered better assignments and hours.
Focus Plumbing is a Las Vegas-based plumbing company that offers a variety of plumbing services through a licensed team of technicians.
The company hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $500,000 to resolve these allegations.
