Froedter Health Inc. has agreed to pay $2 million as part of a class action lawsuit settlement resolving a lawsuit that alleged the company released private information through Meta Pixel technology on its websites. Froedter denies all claims and allegations of wrongdoing.
The lawsuit alleges the health organization violated privacy laws by disclosing personal health information to Facebook through Meta Pixel, an analytical tool that tracks website visitor activities. The company allegedly disclosed personal information from its MyChart patient portal and its public websites.
Froedter Health is a Wisconsin-based integrated health system that provides a variety of services.
Class members may receive an equal share of the settlement fund by filing a valid claim form.
