Gotham Process and other companies agreed to pay $1.35 million to resolve claims that they operated an illegal debt-collection scheme.
According to the class action lawsuit, Mullooly, Jeffery, Rooney & Flynn LLP and Gotham Process falsified court papers to consumers in an attempt to extract money in a fake debt-collection scheme. The scheme allegedly caused thousands of consumers to have lawsuits filed against them that resulted in default judgments due to a lack of lawful service.
