Never asked to be part of this groupon select. They just put me on it. I wanted to be a member of sams club but they kept giving me bad redemption codes. After 6 full hours of craziness. Still cant get my membership. Had to close my bank card. If this wasnt bad enough they wanted to charge me $5 to speak to a human being. Crook is the only polite word I can come up with. But thief is much more accurate.
I have tried to cancel my select and will not let me but keeps on charging me. I have canceled card to stop it because of no other way.
I was thinking about the Groupon $5 deal but now that I’ve read the reviews that I was concerned about the vendors being able to hop out and wanted to really know how many opt out or was it a lot or not a lot nobody could answer this question… Thanks to the people on this site I will not join the rewards Groupon deal!
Same thing… THEY REFUSE TO CANCEL THIS TRIAL (SELECT BETA) PROMO. Once you click yes, you can’t opt-out from paying at least 5 monthly charges of $4.99. The sad part is that I originally had a coupon for 20% off, and then their ad popped out on checkout page to try Groupon Select first month free and I would save a crazy deal of additional 5% off!!! . God knows why I clicked yes, and now I can’t get out from saving my money with Groupon. I demanded to cancel my account completely and they declined my request. They also refused to remove my credit card info from their servers. STAY AWAY FROM GROUPON AND THEIR “DEALS”
Yep! Groupon Select is a scam!!! The $5 Starbucks Gift Card redemption didn’t work, and they refused to cancel, like any reputable company would, for a dissatisfied customer! They just lost a long standing Groupon customer, by fostering this unwanted membership on me.
Totally agree….and they wont let you cancel. I would be cancelling my card now to get out before the 1st month charge…
But I’ve just been told that despite not getting those promised Select rewards because apparently all the vendors opt out, I can’t cancel!
