The Hotel has 289 rooms that is boasted floor-to-ceiling windows with verdant views and elegant, traditional decorations. Throughout our 350-square-foot Deluxe Room, there were neutral color, accented with a burgundy floral carpet, plush floral upholstery, rich draperies and dark wooden furnishings. The room also provide modern comfort with their complimentary WiFi, 42-inch HDTV, iHome radio, Keurig coffeemaker and an electric “Do Not Disturb” sign. One of the most beautiful thing about the room is the stone-tiled bathroom was furnished with a dark granite countertop, a shower/tub combo and L’Occitane bath amenities.

With 250 fitness machines, 145 diverse exercise classes weekly and 35 personal trainers the Houstonian is known for its Houstonian Club, a state-of-the-art fitness center. Within the massive facility, we found tennis, racquetball and basketball courts, running tracks, rock-climbing walls, studios for cycling, yoga, boxing and Pilates, and locker rooms with steam rooms and saunas. It is even children friendly with their Kids’ Club onsite.
There are three options when it comes time to lounging by the pool. A sports pool for swimming laps, a resort pool with fun water features and a quieter garden pool. For the ultimate R&R, we booked massages at Trellis Spa, which featured 100 treatments, an indoor pool, hot tub and a steam room.
The Houstonian also housed 32,000 square feet of meeting rooms and event spaces, along with a staffed business center. Wi-Fi was free throughout, and there was a complimentary area shuttle that operates within three miles of the property.
Food & Drink
During our stay at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa In Houston, we had three restaurants to choose from which included features such as a poolside grill and a cozy bar.
First off, TRIBUTE served “TEX-LEX” fare, authentic food from Texas, Louisiana and Mexico. The Manor House Estate specialized in fine Gulf Coast Creole cuisine in an elegant setting. Center Court Café provided dietitian-approved vegan, gluten-free and organic meals at the Houstonian Club. And Arbor Grill offered fresh fare and chilled cocktails by the pool. For a nightcap, we headed over to The Bar, and grab-and-go items were available at H Market in the Business Center. They were all wonderful, fast and easy options.
Service
The Houstonian staff made us feel like extra special guests from the moment we walked in until we checked out. They were all bright and attentive, particularly the spa attendants and therapists.

The Houstonian sits on a secluded, 27-acre forested property that borders on Memorial Park. There wasn’t much within walking distance, but Uptown Park, Galleria Mall, the Museum of Fine Arts, Contemporary Arts Museum, the Houston Symphony and the Downtown Aquarium were all a short drive away.
