To qualify for the bonus, simply

  • Open 360 Checking. Open a new account with promo code CHECKING250.
  • Get direct deposits. Set up and receive at least 2 direct deposits, each of $500 or more, within 75 days of account opening.
  • Bonus time. Your $250 will be deposited into your new account after you complete these steps.

  • If you have or had an open 360 Checking, Simply Checking, or Total Control Checking account as a primary or secondary account holder with Capital One on or after January 1, 2022, you will be ineligible for the bonus. If your account is in default, closed or suspended, or otherwise not in good standing before you receive the bonus, you will not receive the bonus. No minimum balance is required to be maintained in order to receive this bonus.
  • Here’s the full scoop on how to earn your $250 bonus:
    • Open a 360 Checking account on or after August 22, 2024, using promotional code CHECKING250.
    • Set up and receive at least 2 Qualifying Direct Deposits each of $500 or more to your 360 Checking account within 75 days of account opening.
    • Capital One will deposit the bonus into your account after the first two requirements listed above are completed. See below for when the bonus will be posted.
  • What is a Qualifying Direct Deposit?
  • A Qualifying Direct Deposit is a regular periodic payment, such as salary, pension, government payments (for example, Social Security), or other monthly income that occurs as an Automated Clearing House (ACH) or Real-Time Payment network credit from your employer or an outside entity.
  • Wire transfers, ACH credits, and funds transfers initiated using Capital One’s website or mobile app are not considered a Qualifying Direct Deposit.
  • When will I get my bonus?
  • You have 75 days to complete the requirements above. After the first 75 days from account opening, your status to receive the bonus will be assessed and processed, which can take up to 60 days. This means, if all requirements are met, you can expect your bonus to be deposited into your account within 135 days from account opening. To receive your bonus, your account must also be open and in good standing at the time the bonus will be deposited.

    I had opened the 360 checking with the promotional offer on Dec. 4. Three card purchases were made and now (on day 56) I have yet to receive a deposit for $50.

    Capital One Bank sent an offer in the mail that $25 would be paid if you joined their on line bill pay. I called today but they denied it. I have misplaced my paper on it, but they now have a new one for $20 if you pay two bills over $20. How can I get them to honor the $25 one when there was no promotion code, just to sign up before midnight the 23rd of August?

    i usually wait 90 days. However, you may call them and ask. There is no fees of keeping it and you can make money by referring ur friends and family.

    Hi Hustler, I clicked through one of your links and deposited $250, but for some reason I didn’t get the bonus. I sent a secure message asking about it, and this is what they said:

    “Please respond with the name and email address of the Customer that referred you and we’ll be happy to research your bonus posting further.”

    I use the link a few days ago and everything went normal, except that they are refusing to give the bonus, they said today that there is no referral related to my account. I saw the promo code at time of poening and I should have made a copy of it, sadly I didn’t. 🙁

    I signed up through one of the links like you told me. It has been 2 days since and I didn’t receive the $25. I called ING and they said they need your email address to look it up as they didn’t show a reference # attached.. They said you were supposed to send me an referral email. Did you receive the $10 for referring me? Please tell me your email address or the reference code that was used (I clicked on the last referral link on this page) so I can follow up with them.

    This is an update to my previous post. Earlier, I was not able to open the checking account online with $50 bonus. Called up the customer care and he opened a checking account for me with the bonus $50 applied to it. However, i need to make 3 purchases within 45 days to receive this bonus on the 50th day…

    When i click on ‘Apply Now’, it is asking if i am an existing customer or a new customer to ING. I should obviously select an existing customer. Then it says there is a bonus of $50 for a new customer only, not for an existing customer.
