I filed a claim in July 21 2021 claim # 60024951701. I have not heard from my claim. I had my coil replaced twice. Is their a phone # I can call to ask questions?
We Purchased a new home in 2018, brand new, there are 2 Lennox units, the upstairs unit stopped cooling found out that there are several Freon leaks in the evaporator coil. The parts are under warranty but not the Labor ($1200.00) Now I find out about the law suit, but it’s closed.. what should we do!????????
My Lennox unit’s (2 of them, a 1.5ton and a 5 ton) have leaked the refrigerant and are shot. The technician recommends a complete new system install – cost $21K!!!! They are recommending Rheem with a 10 year parts/services warranty – that they service as a certified installer/maintenance firm. The Lennox unit was installed in the this new home in 2011 – so no excuse for that system to be completely junk at this point. What a mess.
The class action lawsuit is impossible to get any money out of. Plus – the amount they are offering is in no way covering anything close to a replacement. To replace the existing coils alone for my system is $5K – and they are telling me that the rest of the system could begin to break (condenser coils, compressors, etc.) which will cost in the thousands of dollars to repair. Best to install a new system – end to end – for 2 systems! Dammit! Lennox should be shuttered. They are still selling systems, making money – they should be shut down – fraud, scamsters. What a rip off!
Today my A/C technician is in my house in Kingwood, TX to replace the Lennox coil for the 3rd since I purchased the brand new house in 2014. The coil failed in 2016 for the 1st time, and April 2020 for the 2nd time, and June 2020 for the 3rd time. It was only 7 weeks between the 2nd and 3rd failure. All related to the leaking. I have spent thousands of dollars on this, let alone the stress that I went through. Any idea how to sue this bad company? We have to stop this wrong doing.
Hi Albert, I would sure love to know the outcome. I myself have a home built in 2013. In 2018 I had to replace the coils and in 2019 I had to replace the whole outside unit. Now I am dealing with the downstairs unit and it’s looking like it’s a coil issue. I’m so over dealing with high costs for large items yet I can’t get normal use and life expectancy.
Mr. Greenberg I live in Kingwood, TX and purchased a new home in 2013 that has 3 Lennox units. I have replaced 3 condenser coils. I didn’t join the class action suit and plan to sue Lennox in small claims court. It will be a slow process through the court system but I will post the outcome.
I have little faith in class action suits. Too often these lawyers cut a favorable settlement for the company they are suing, their client get shafted, and they are paid millions. That’s what I feel happened in the Lennox case.
I just found out that my evaporator coil is bad. I don’t have the upfront money to fix this. Now i’m having to use window units. It’s $550 just to refill the unit with refrigerant. Then another $800 in labor cost. I’ve already spent $550 to recharg the system and put the dye pack in. Not to mention a $600 thermostat. This is ridiculous and just to much to deal with.
I to have just replaced my original coil and labor was $900.00. I am a senior citizen also. And do no have this money for repair. How do I get a form to fill out. I was told that my coil was one of the faulty ones. And I should try to get reimbursed
I purchased this house in 2012 in a new development (built in 2007) in Orlando Fl. Within four years the central air/heat died. I had to replace the entire Lennox unit which came to $6000.00. American Heat and Air in Orlando was the company that handled the installation. Last year,2018, the coil began leaking, and American Air and Heat sent three technicians out (I do not recommend this company) the third technician recognized the issue. He replaced/repaired the faulty coil etc. It is now August 2019. and today, August 10, I have another company replacing/repairing this coil. Obviously, there is something wrong with this Lennox product. This is getting to be too expensive. I am a senior and I can’t afford these yearly $700.00-800.00 repairs on the same equipment I just spent $6000.00 on. Where do I locate the claim forms.
My house has 2 units with the bad coils that were replaced. I was sent an email that they needed more info and would mail the forms that need to be filled out. Never received the forms. I sent email after email trying to get another response. I was then told I had to replace the coils twice and I only will receive a $75 voucher. The bad coils are ch-33 and the new coated coils are ch-35. After less than 2 years I had to replace one of the new coils. It is now Aug 9 and I’m still trying to get this settled.
You are so right this company sucks…I brought a house with Lennox and had more problems with the unit..then the evaporator coil went bad and I had it replaced could not get the lawsuit to work for me at all…everything you said in your comment happen to me…but when it was replaced it was replaced with the same kind of coil. I spoke to a representative of Lennox and he said they have always made those coils for years…and I told him well you know they are bad so why keep making them…what idiot company would keep making bad coils…got nowhere and sold my home…the one I brought does not have Lennox…never buy a product from them again.!!!
I have 2 coils that failed that qualified for the settlement. Lennox has stonewalled, delayed, and called my claim Deficient with no easy method to remove the deficiency even though my A/C company says the coils are indeed part of the settlement. I’ll NEVER, EVER buy any HVAC system from Lennox nor a house with a Lennox system in it. This company has to be the worst company every to do business in the U.S. SHAMEFUL.
i bought my new construction home in houston in 2012. the house had 3 lennox units. all 3 coils started leaking in 2016. a local AC company replaced the coils that lennox gave them under the warranty exchange. the warranty only requires that lennox exchange the coil with a similar coil (warranty covers the part, not the labor so i had to pay to have the replacement coils installed). So i got 3 copper coil to replace the faulty copper coils. i still filed all the paperwork under the class action lawsuit website. now its 2018 and the replacement coils are starting to leak! i never got any reimbursement from the claims on the original coils and now i have to file a claim for the replacement coils. I have spent over $3000 in labor charges, refrigerant refills, and service calls from my local AC company. The settlement website initially approved the claim and now is saying is “denied”. Thoroughly disappointed in Lennox and the settlement process.
For the past 12,15 years indoor coil failure by most a/c mfg. firms has been a disaster. If consumers had any ideal just how bad a/c defects are they would be shocked.Huge amounts of refrigerants have been released into the air at consumers expense.Several other problems exist in the a/c industry causing huge cost to consumers. It would require a lot of time to reveal all the aforementioned defects, problems and practices.
I purchased my New Construction home in 2015. In 2018 my evaporator coil in my upstairs unit failed. MTB Mechanical came out and replaced the coil. The total cost was almost $1500. I filed a settlement claim, and set in ALL paperwork needed. This was my first replacement coil that was performed.I now am told the only thing I will receive is a $75 warranty rebate. You have to have a second replacement coil fixed in order to receive a check for $550. In closing you would need to spend $3000. To get back $550. Very unfair.
Do you have the phone number to Lennox Industries?
I just checked the status on my claim as well from 9-19-2016 and today is said my claim was deficient. They would be sending me a letter in the mail. I wonder what this means? I have provided them all of the documentation needed. I don’t understand what else they would need. This upsets me. They got the lawsuit money and should reimburse people.
To whom it may concern…I am sick of this..I lived in a neighborhood Heritage View Townhomes in Wake Forest NC and we had several homes in our area with this evaporator coil problem. I paid over 700.00 for mine to be repaired. I had all the paperwork and receipts and the home was new built in 2011 and I brought it in Feb 2012. I have contacted the firm and been watching the claims to see how it is going. This was settled in 2015. I can’t seem to get this law firm to pay me my money or anyone else in the neighborhood theirs. Now I got something saying my claim was deficient. I am so mad..I have not received the form they said they would send me to correct. My next step is to contact Lennox and let them know this firm is holding this money so they can make interest off the money. THEN I am going to organize the neighborhood to contact the judge and file a suit again this law firm for not giving us our money we deserve. I am 64 and retired and could not afford to pay out 700.00 for something that was not MY FAULT. I WANT MY MONEY and so do my neighbors ..so PLEASE help us get this resolved. I have never seen such sorry business actions!!!!
Thank you,
