The settlement will benefit individuals who purchased or leased a 2013 to 2017 Nissan Sentra, 2014 to 2017 Nissan Versa Note, and/or a 2012 to 2017 Nissan Versa vehicle equipped with a continuously variable transmission. You may be eligible for a potential award from the Nissan Transmission Class Action Lawsuit!
According to the class action, the defect shows up in vehicles outside of the five year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty sold with Nissan vehicles. This means that consumers are allegedly forced to foot the bill for repairs. So if you are eligible, file a claim by January 30, 2020 to receive your potential award!

hello, i bought a 2015 versa note without a chance to drive it. i purchased it because i have never owned a Nissen, and always wanted to try one. i am 72 years old and on a fixed income. I am asking for your merci, if there is any way you can offer me some assistance in replacing the transmission? I so far love the car, and I would love to drive it soon. Billion Nissen in Sioux city is the closest dealership, and I would love for them to give me the experience of driving my ” newest vehicle” that has 110,882 miles on it. I drove it home in Iowa and for the most part it drives just fine at higher speeds. I love that the average mpg 35-40 would be awesome. also, i appreciate the fact I don’t bump my head getting into the car. 😮 ) thank you for whatever you can do for this old timer, whose wife of 32 years left me over 6 years ago. God is in control, and I believe He gave me the idea to contact your office in Franklin, Tennessee. please help if you can.
I had a transmission replaced at 72000 on my 2018 Nissan Sentra in Jan 31 2023.I had it replaced at Nissan dealership I could not find any class action lawsuits online at that time for my vehicle. Nissan recently sent me an update on warranty information to 84000. The number I call said for reimbursement on expenses on the class action lawsuit was to have been filed by March 20 2023. although Nissans charges for my transmission was 6200.00 Nissan did help with half . they know what they are doing to people they should be put out of business for unfair practices . I am still paying on my car and hsd to dish out of my pocket expenses that should have been covered by nissan completely
I have a 2018 Nissan Rouge with 37,000 KM. Approx 2 years ago I started to notice a clunking noise at low speeds when starting from a stop. I’ve now had the auto checked 4 times by a Nissan service employee who confirms that the noise is coming from the transmission but can’t find anything wrong so told me to continue monitoring. On the last check-up the service employee took me for a test drive on a similar 2018 Nissan Rogue from the lot that was for sale, and it had the same clunking noise. He said it’s a common issue with these Rogues and not to worry about it. After reading numerous articles about the Nissan CVT problems I’m not convinced. I know there was a class action lawsuit against in the US which included 2018 Rogues but nothing yet in Canada. Does anyone know why not?
Ideally it should last longer than the car itself. I have seen vehicles with 400k miles on them and their transmission was fine. This is extremely abnormal and is absolutely the fault of the manufacturer.
I have 2013 Nissan Sentra and was just told by a Nissan Dealership that the transmission needs replaced and would be $6200. Not only is this nearly $2000 above fair price it turns out that the issue is with the manufacturer. I will also never buy a Nissan again. We were not informed that this was a common problem, we were given a terribly unfair price replacement twice, and of course we missed the deadline for the class action lawsuit. There needs to be better regulation of vehicle manufacturers and dealerships. Does anyone know if there are other class action lawsuits for the 2013 Nissan Sentra with continuously variable transmissions?
I have a 2017 Nissan Altima 65,500 miles and was just told I need a new transmission. There have been so many class action lawsuits. I am still paying off the car. I will NEVER buy another Nissan. Do you know of any open class action law suits for reimbursement for cvt problems?
On Thursday, January 12, 2023, my 2015 Nissan Sentra SV shut down as I was coming off the highway. I have experienced the same problems as countless others. My car is not even 10 years old and has 89K miles on it. It makes no sense. The dealership has my car currently and told me the transmission is dead and needs to be replaced for nearly $5000.00. There are too many people with complaints for this not to be a company issue.
I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra SV with 112800 ml on it it has been having transmission probloms sense I bought it in 2020 the dealership that sold it to me had to know about the lawsuit and still sold me this messed up car. I can’t even drive my car I haven’t been able to drive it most of the time that I have owned it I’ve only put 500 miles on it since I bought it because the transmition went out right after I bought it. Do I qualify to get my car fixed for free sence I bought my car before the lawsuit was over how do I find out if I can get help paying for
I have a 2014 Nissan versa note and the transmission went out. Only has 64000 miles on it. Can you please help me out
I have a 2014 Sentra, I had to put a new transmission in it when it only have 30000, now it is has 124000, and it is after Jan 2020 and it is jumping around like crazy scared to drive it. I have to take in to the shop and i am able to get reimbursed for it? I only received a notification about this lawsuite 2021.
How long should a transmission last?
2013 rogue should be in this claim
That is what I am looking for too!
Is there an attorney that would like to represent all of us on another lawsuit on Nissan to cover our vehicles?
I totally agree with you. We all should of been sent notices and their should be a recall on all CVT transmissions with nissan. Our 2017 Juke is screwed and our warranty was up 5000 miles ago…pathetic…Im also have issues with my 2017 Nissan Titan that I bought brand new, it has 78000 on it and the rear end is messing up so Im taking it in with all the other issues that I have previously taken it in for and they claim they can’t find anything wrong, and they will give me a free loaner until my damn truck is fixed right. As for the Juke, maybe we all can get together and get another lawsuit going to cover our vehicles????
We have a 2017 Nissan Juke which we purchased brand new from dealer and our extended warranty that we bought ended at 84,000 and we have 89,000 on the vehicle and now the car won’t even drive hardly. The transmission is messed up and now no warranty. Nissan should have to pay to replace all of our trannys under a 100,000. What can we do?
it is october, and i have not received
I have a 2014 Nissan Sentra as of this September 2020 my transmission is jumping making noise and spudering jumping my mileage is only 63,000 what can I do im disabled and just can’t get $4,000 dollars and if it worth doing since other’s are saying same problem transmission with new one.?
my 2015 nissan sentra, transmission is doing this jerking and speeding up and shifting up then down just this week 09/09/2020 and i bought it 2nd hand i suppose i am out of luck? i think i will call the dealership and see what i can squeeze out of them? what do you all think of this idea am i wasting my time or not? i will have to park it and wait for a mirricle because i am a disabled diabetic who is 57 years old and i have used my pension, 401k, and everything else trying to just heep insulin in my fridge it cost so much to take care of my diabetes i am so sad that i will be stuck without my car. say a prayer for me as i know i will be turned away, and hoplesness continues :/
I was really happy with my 2013 Nissan Altima. Until the transmission just suddenly went out. Everyone I talk to says that’s normal for CVT transmissions. Then I find out there was a class action suit against Nissan for said issue. That I’ve missed the deadline to file a claim. The one thing I’ve definitely learned from this. No more Nissan’s for me!!!!
So let me see if I’ve got this straight. All of us Nissan owners who didn’t know about the class action. So we didn’t file a claim by January 2020. Are just shit out of luck. Stuck with paying thousands for repairs. Just great.
I am looking to learn if anyone who has filed a claim for this suit actually received their reimbursement. I have not.
I have a 2013 Nissan Versa which I bought in 2014 with 30,000+ miles. When the mileage reached, 44,000+ miles had to replace transmission. As it was still with a warranty, Nissan replace it for me at no charge to me. Now at 102+ thousand miles, transmission is going to have to be replaced again. I contacted the corporate offices and after careful review, they advised me they could not assist me in any way with a new transmission. This is just not right. I even offered to pay for the labor to have it installed, but they would not agree to that either. Never will I buy another Nissan. I feel Nissan should stand behind their products. Very disappointed.
Wow! Thought I was the only one…. I have a 2013 Nissan purchased in Maryland with $100k miles. The car was problematic from the start but now the transmission is completely gone! I had no idea about this settlement. The mechanic wants $3000 to fix the car, I owe $6000 and the Kelly Blue Book value is $1000. What a mess! The bottom line is that I am now paying for a dead car. The lemon laws in Maryland are not helpful for this situation. Please help!
I have a 2013 Nissan Sentra. It has 85000 miles now. The transmission finally was blown in April. My extended warranty that would have covered the transmission expired in April 2020 but due to Covid I could not bring my car in on time to get repair work done at the dealer. If anyone starts a class action lawsuit please count me in.
Yesss!! We just paid 4500 dollars to put a new transmission in my wifes 2016 altima. This part failure put my wifes life in danger as it went out on the interstate. I’m trying to reach out. I’m not very internet savvy. Your comment is very inspiring. I want to be a part of whatever I can to help any cause. It is a criminal act by Nissan in my opinion as well.
It’s impossible to get any update on my claim. Who can be contacted? The website and any info there is useless
You say in your blog that the class action lawsuit may cover those years, but sadly today these class action lawsuits only benefit the huge number of law firms that are representing the “so-called” class. My transmission started failing at 70,000 miles but not knowing it was a transmission issue, it finally failed completely at 99,000 miles and the only way I found out about the lawsuit was from my mechanic who ran the diagnostics. This is truely a criminal coverup by Nissan and this class action lawsuit did nothing to help the 10s of 1000s of Nissan owners who have been screwed and tattooed with their personal and emotional and financial harm from this criminal business practice of Nissan. I am in the process of delivering the compelling story to the news media investigative teams so they can expose this criminal company and maybe put them out of business for good. I never even received anything from the class action lawsuit even though I was supposedly automatically part of the class! That, too, is very crooked and the whole court system in Tennessee is crooked and should be ashamed of themselves. I will also be exposing the judge there who presided over this whole thing…maybe he or she got paid off by Nissan. All I know is the big money went to the law firms, not the people out their cars, money or transmissions. I still haven’t been able to fix mine which has been sitting since December…absolutely one of the most criminal cases!
I have a 2020 Altima . T he transmission failed at 17000miles. Nissan repaired it, but refused to cover the drive belt which was chewed up by the bad transmission. 17000 miles and what happens next. If I had known, would not buy Nissan with CVT trans.
I have a 2018 NISSAN Sentra just took it to the dealer. They say it checked out okay. However anyone who drives it will say the rpms are to high 3k 4k before it shifts into 2nd. Is the 2018 Nissan sentra included in this lawsuit. If not any other lawsuit. I got 48,370 on it and then its not covered. Please let me know.
Thanks
Filed a claim, when do we here back about getting our money back?
I have a 2005 Nissian Altima my transmission slips and it acts like it dosent want to shift and when it does it shifts really hard I no my car is a lot older than most here but can someone please help and let me no if there’s any resources that can help me
My 2015 Nissan Rogue transmission SLIPPED completely out of gear in the middle of the freeway yesterday and I had to make an emergency stop on the shoulder in the middle of nowhere.!!! Had to get it towed 15 miles away to find out the transmission needs to be replaced. My car is only at 71,000 miles!!!!! This is insane! The transmissions are faulty and dangerous on OTHER MODELS not just the ones in the class action lawsuit. How do the rest of us go about getting this made right??
I have a 2014 Nissan Versa Sedan. My Transmission is getting worse everyday….89,000 miles..
I’m told by Nissan my Vehicle is not under WARRANTY anymore for the Transmisson…..
Do I have any Options other than my pocket ?
