The Plaza New York has a different feel than most other modern hotels because it has a timeless characteristic to it, housed within the historic Beaux-Arts building. The grand lobby itself has adramatic palatial feel with beautiful, luxurious marble, crystal chandeliers, gilded moldings and intricate flower arrangements.
Rooms
The hotel boasts 282 rooms and suites at a generous 475 square feet and have tall ceilings, pillow-topped Stearns and Foster mattresses, luxurious Italian Mascioni bedding, spa-like baths, 24-carat gold-plated Sherle Wagner bathroom fixtures and an iPad to control temperature, lighting and more. Suites also come with bespoke furnishings, curated art, white glove butler service and coveted Fifth Avenue and Central Park views.
Facilities
The Plaza New York also houses the famous Guerlain Spa, which is a 24/7, state-of-the-art fitness center and the 6,100-square-foot Warren Tricomi Salon. Additionally, the hotel offers shopping for the highest-end jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, health and beauty products and more.
Food & Drink
The Plaza New York has one of the best food halls, with one restaurant and two bars. The The Todd English Food Hall is a market-style restaurant with nine counters serving everything from pasta to sushi. Customers can go there to enjoy a juicy burger, grilled octopus tacos, and a delicious roasted mushroom flatbread pizza.
We had an amazing breakfast at the Palm Court and highly recommend the New York pastrami has and eggs. At the the end of the nigh, you can listen to live jazz at the Rose Club or have some champagne at the Champagne Bar.
Service
Although the staff at The Plaza were pleasant, we wouldn’t say they went above and beyond. However, with 282 rooms, and a lot of foot traffic, it’s understandable that personalized service is hard for any hotel to achieve.
Location
The Plaza New York is ideally located in Midtown on Fifth Avenue across from the south end of Central Park. Just outside the hotel is the iconic Pulitzer Fountain and the Bergdorf Goodman department store. It’s also steps away from all the high-end Fifth Avenue shops like Prada, Gucci and Tiffany & Co.

The nearly 100 year old Plaza is definitely a New York landmark. With beautiful, opulent rooms, excellent food and drink options and a world class spa, a stay at this luxury hotel is worth the money.
