On Fri 9/7/2018, I applied for an account. Free membership is available nationwide by Premier MCU donating $5 on your behalf to their charity Impact on Education, at no cost to you.
On Tue 9/11/2018, I was asked to upload copies of my driver’s license, social security card, and 2 utility bills, in their secure messaging interface.
On Wed 9/12/2018, I was asked to e-sign a Docusign form.
On Thu 9/13/2018, my application was approved. Charges went through that evening on the Visa credit card I had used to fund the account up to the maximum $1500 allowed by Premier MCU ($5 into the base share savings account, and $1495 into the money market account); it went through as a purchase, not a cash advance.

This credit union has been great! Maxed it out after maxing out 5% accounts and transfers in/out are easy if you need to use it for your emergency fund.
Opened this account a couple months ago, it’s great! Seems like a no brainer: easy 3% on up to $2K, I even max out up to $5K for the 1.5% tier (more than my current Ally savings account for 1.2%).
