My favorite one is…………..Ford Interest Advantage. You can use it as a checking account. They mail monthly statements…………..they pay 2.40 to 2.65%. Works great with a broker account except it takes 5 business days to be available on a ACH transfer in. We have had it Ford thru 2 Bush recessions including the killer 2007-2009 one. Rumors said Ford would devalue……….in fact predicted……but never happened and they are well managed by The Northern Trust Co. When everyone else was ripping you off with 1/2%………..Ford was still paying 1.05%.
I do not agree with your comment. Purepoint does same day or 2-day transfers.
Purepoint is my favorite online bank to deal with. They pay a fair rate, have high ACH limits, & ACH transfers happen the next day. By far the best online bank out there today, they do not play games like many of the other high interest savings accounts & Money Markets out there.
I agree, Purepoint is Excellent. I opened my account more than a year ago and had no problems whatsoever. Transfers are INSTANTLY posted to my account when I initiate them from my purepoint account, so no delays.
PLUS they have some of the highest interest rates in the market.
Once again………….although Purepoint makes you have 10,000 in the account it works great with a brokerage account. They currently do not offer IRA accounts but I heard they are working on it by year end. Once that happens you can link your Broker IRA to Purepoint new accounts and start getting way more interest on idle cash. You are now allowed unlimited trustee to trustee transfers
@ dogg……….those other places don’t paty 1.80%………..they are always behind the curve
I use PUREPOINT with my brokerage accounts. I have not found one yet that will link with an IRA but the law was changed years ago and unlimited trustee to trustee transfers are allowed. But with a regular broker account it’s great. You get 2 day settlement rule. But pure point is fast to release the money……..just be proactive. No limit on the amount you can transfer in or out. I’m still searching for a place that allows just a $100 minimum but purepoint is $10,000 or the rate drops which is OK if it’s just a short time. If anyone can find a bank paying purepoints rate plus unlimited withraws plus 100 dollar minimum give me a call. Also PUREPOINT aims to please as it is the 1st to up the rate
Pure point is excellent to link to your broker accounts……..they get your money to the broker in 1 day and sometimes 2 days. The reverse is the same. Yes, just 6 withdraws per month. Better try it again because these others put limits on your cash per day
PurePoint is Pure Hell
PurePoint is a horrible institution – they really have no idea how to run an online bank. It took four days for an ACH deposit to become available. When questioned about it they decided to close my account. When I asked them to ACH the deposit back to the bank it came from they said my bank had to initiate the transfer. When pressed they finally agreed to initiate the transfer. It took three attempts for them to get the instructions right. If you get passed to someone beyond a customer service rep be prepared for rude and defensive individuals, none of who has the authority to make a decision. And don’t hold your breath waiting for them to return a call or to follow-up in the time frame they promise. There are plenty of online banks with competitive rates and much more savvy about the online experience including Ally, Synchrony, Capital One, American Express Bank. Avoid PurePoint like the plague!
