Style
The Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. is both plush and comfortable with a refreshing and modern take on the traditional, residential style. The contrasting colors truly brightens the property, yet the fixtures in the common areas and hallways remain traditional. The different textures of fabrics and leathers, as well as colored marble fireplaces, give the hotel a polished and refined appeal.
Rooms
The The Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. consists of 300 rooms and suites. Each room and suite features classically-inspired sophistication with a peaceful color palette, stunning views and design touches that pay tribute to the city’s history.
The 450-square-foot Club Deluxe Room boasts the same neutral color palette as the rest of the hotel, but with the addition of some red accents and brass details. There was also a textured headboard, gold graphic carpet and the traditional-styled furniture with a nice vintage feel. The stunning, spacious marble bathroom comes with a luxurious soaking tub, separate shower, gilded mirror and exclusive Asprey bath amenities.
Facilities
Although they have no spa, pool or fitness center directly inside the hotel, all of this can be arranged at the adjacent 100,000-square-foot Equinox Sports Club. This gym and saltwater pool are free for Club Level guests, or $15 per day for regular guests.
The hotel offers more than 16,000 square feet of flexible venues, including a ballroom, an Executive Conference Center and five additional meeting rooms. There’s also a 24-hour business center, as well as complimentary morning newspapers, overnight shoe shining and chauffeured house car.
Food & Drink
One of the biggest attraction points of The Ritz-Carlton is its amazing, casual restaurant, the Quadrant Bar & Lounge which offers handcrafted cocktails and internationally-inspired small plates in a more relaxed environment. For those who want to spend a little more money, this establishment does come with rare liquors. All you have to do is ask about their Reserve List. These top-shelf options are stored in a safe under lock and key.
The more formal option offered at the hotel is their Westend Bistro that serves updated American bistro classics, made with fresh, quality produce from local farms from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The seasonal menu consists of dishes such as their Painted Hills short ribs with roasted heirloom carrots, Rohan duck breast with wild rice pilaf and wild Atlantic halibut with summer squash.
Service
Service at The Ritz is nothing short of perfect as the bellman placed our luggage on the cart, he asked for our names making us feel at home. The receptionist desk also greeted us by name and made our day much smoother with an extremely easy check-in process with an attentive staff that helped us with all of our needs.

Bottom Line
The Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. property offers everything you would want from a luxurious stay from the elegant and comfortable rooms, to the outstanding food and drink. This hotel also boasts some of the cities’ best views and comes with excellent service. Although the hotel is a bit far away from the White House and the National Mall, there are still plenty of dining and shopping options nearby.
