Style
This hotel is designed in an elegant style that combines glamour and sophistication. The Beaux-Arts building of The St. Regis stands out with its luxurious canopy and scarlet carpet at the entrance. Guests are immediately greeted with marble, crystal chandeliers, gilded crown moldings, intricate metalwork and trompe l’oeil ceilings.
Rooms
The hotel consists of 238 rooms and suites that embody old-world glamour with a timeless, modern twist. Each guestroom features Waterford chandeliers, elegant crown moldings, striped fabric walls, gold-accented furniture, large-format photography art, vibrant fabrics, gorgeous beveled mirrors and a personal St. Regis butler at your service.
The Grand Luxe room features bold blue tones, custom furnishings and a Bose sound system. To couple with an elegant room is the Italian marble bath, with separate rain shower and bath, offered double sinks, plush robes and luxurious Laboratoire Remède toiletries.
Facilities
On the hotel’s 19th floor lies the state-of-the-art St. Regis Athletic Club. This facility is open for complimentary, 24-hour access for all guests with ARTIS equipment by Technogym. Private instruction in yoga, Pilates and weight training are available upon request.
Curated books from John Jacob Astor IV’s original collection – housed behind glass at the hotel for over a century – are available to guests on Kindle devices. The digital library comes stocked with a selection of popular titles, including The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Guests also have the option to take around the hotel’s complimentary Bentley courtesy car, on a first-come, first-served basis, to travel anywhere within a 10-mile radius.
Food & Drink
The St. Regis’s signature restaurant, Astor Court, is an elegantly designed open-style lounge that features modern interpretations of traditional dishes and locally-sourced ingredients. The decadent breakfast includes items like the decadent Astor Benedict with seven eggs, Maine lobster, jumbo lump crab, and caviar.
The upscale King Cole Bar is a city icon offering signature cocktails as well as canapés. It is rumored that the Bloody Mary (aka Red Snapper) was first make at this hotel. New York’s trendiest scenesters can be found at the bar during cocktail hour.
Service
A luxury hotel comes with quality service. The staff at The St. Regis is sure to make your stay feel first-class. There is a white-gloved butler available to tend to guest needs around-the-clock, a feature of all rooms regardless of category. They fetched beverages, pressed garments and shined our shoes. Butlers can also assist with packing and unpacking luggage.
The on-site concierge was is helpful and deals with things such as acquiring museum tickets and making restaurant reservations.
Location
Located in Midtown East on 55th Street, the St. Regis New York is right next to Fifth Avenue and its famed shops. Central Park is four blocks away, and the MOMA, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and the Theatre District are all within walking distance.
