Ive done these so many times without even having a drivers license. just dress like a bum and tell them youll leave as soon as they process it. youll get your gift card way fast and they wont do any of that shit your talking about
You do understand that with each test drive you initiate, the dealer ALWAYS requires a copy of your license and insurance cards! Furthermore, I’ve had experiences where, unknow to me and without my permission, they check your credit rating. Each hard check reduces your rating usually by several points. So if you start “running the circuit” to take advantage of all these paid test drives your credit rating will take a HARD hit! Finally, if you ever go back to any of these dealership at a later date to actually shop for and actually purchase a car, your info may still be in their computer system and may flag you as nothing more than something of a “window shopper!” What happens if these computer systems are somehow networked together in an effort to screen such misuse of their promotions?? I don’t know that this is possible but if it was, the prospective customer probably wouldn’t be any the wiser to it’s operation. Sort of like the little boy who cried wolf to often.
That just made me NOT WANT TO BUY FROM THEM and they were in the top 3 new cars I was going for.

Maybe you should be working on how to read instead of doing test drives & complaining. It 100% says that you can only complete once per house hold every 6 months at each dealership. So anyyyyy Nissan dealership. Not just that specific one. Let’s be honest, you nor your friend were in the market for a new car. If anyone should be mad it’s the employee who lost time and money when he could’ve spent that time with someone who would’ve actually bought a car.
I just did test drive MLK day (january 20, 2020) for a delaership in Orlando. Got my giftcard link on the spot. It may have been that dealership. My mom and sis did same around christmas with no issue.
Same thing happened to me at Hyundai and I BOUGHT one. They made a mess of my whole transaction. Right down to almost delivering the Wrong car. Yup no more Hyundai’s for me. And the girl who handled the gift card was never available but I was assured each time it was on its way to me!
My daughter and I went to our local hyundai in 2019 to do this. We both gave our forms and they said they would take care of it. Yep, they threw them in the trash. I went round and round with them about why they did not turn the forms in but all I got was different sales people trying to get me in to buy a car. My daughter does not live with me so they should have honored both. I contacted the company who did the gift cards and they just blew me off saying not redeemed. I contacted corporate who said they have no control over dealerships yet I thought since the dealership is using the hyundai name they would be concerned the dealership was not honoring the offer. I will never buy a hyundai or go back there.

I would call the headquarters or main office and give them the information. I had to do it years ago regarding a Hyundai promotion for a $50 Amex gift check and I did receive it.

I am on the market for an SUV, by the end of the year, and thought that this would be an opportunity to look into these promotions. But, if it’s too much of a hassle, or a wait (1 person said it had been 5 weeks, and no card yet.), then it may not be worth it to pursue many any of these. (And some of these makers don’t have SUVs.)

This is one of my annual favorite projects. Been doing these for maybe 20 years and in all that time I have had to take maybe two or three actual test drives. Right now I have $285 for the following as of 8/23/19. Did them all today and yesterday. I had a couple earlier this year, too, that I did.

Just back completely out and go back in. Sometimes the6 don’t load right away. The Honda one you must do on a computer but I believe it’s only for that one Dealership.
Went to Lancaster Nissan in PA. Salesman offered to give the $50 gift card without even having to do the test drive. Me and my friend both were offered these cards. At the end of the test driving,and discussing of vehicles, we were told we came up as duplicates…. Really??!! 2 1/2 hours of doing the test driving, looking at cars, asking about cars, discussing promotions and incentives….NO CARDS were given to us. And as far as “duplicate”, I wish we’d asked for the paperwork stating this. For one, my friend did NOT do any other test driving for a Nissan so I know that “duplicate” excuse was a bunch of bull, and I only test drove 1 Nissan before at a totally different Dealership and area but was looking at different models this time, so it made no sense. Also, I checked for fine print and NOWHERE does it say anywhere about how m as my times you can do a test drive!!!! So literally anyone can drive a vehicle anywhere and as many times as they want and get a Gift Card. So I’m quite uoset, mostly for my friend who definitely never test drove any Nissan before and me because I brought this Dealership business by bringing someone else besides myself looking for a new car!!!! I honestly feel like I can’t trust this Dealership because before we really talked, he already said he’d give us the gift cards….yet we left empty handed and possibly now looking to buy our new cars elsewhere.

I can’t get any of these to pop up with the offer. I have tried multiple dealerships, and every brand. I have been doing this once per year, per brand that offers them, for three years. This is the first year that I have had an issue. I have tried enabling pop ups, java/flash, different browsers, and even my work computer instead of my home computer. If someone can help me resolve this issue, I will very grateful and share a few money saving tricks that are relatively difficult to find online.
Hyundai works for me on 7/22. They have a dedicated webpage for it.
All of the other caremaker test drive offers are expired or not available as of 7/22/19.

Strait up tell the sales guys right up front that you are not interested in purchasing and that you are only here for the gift card. They will take your form, basically push you out the door, and find something else to do.
Sales guys don’t like wasting their time either. Just be upfront with what you want.

The same thing happened to me in Houston at the Hyundai dealership. I finally called and left a message for the manager. After a week he responded and sent my gift card
You should have mentioned the gift card beforehand, I made sure to do that every time and make sure to let them know you’re only doing it for the gift card so they don’t waste their time trying to sell you a car. They won’t take offense and will understand as a lot of people only do it for the gift card. Sometimes they’ll even let you skip the test drive and just straight ahead give you the card.
Posting a google review of the offending dealership seemed to do the trick for me as I received the gift card in my email within 3-4 days of the review which they obviously must have seen.
Is there a technique for getting the “test drive incentive” when visiting a dealership?
Earlier this month, I visited a dealer website and got a popup for $50 Amazon card to take a test drive.
I submitted my info, got a coupon code with instructions to print it out, and the dealership immediately called me — I said I’d be over to take a test drive.
Went over, test drove the car (it was nice but not for me — especially after the 1 hour of salespitch after the test drive… I suck at shutting down sales guys!).
After the test drive (but before the sales pitch), I gave the saleguy the printout of the coupon where there were instructions for the sales agent to “log into redemption site to mark my coupon code as redeemed.” There was no URL for “the redemption site” on the coupon.
Agent said he never heard of this before (meanwhile he has signs all over his office saying he’s been doing this 5+ years). I was like “seriously? It’s on your website.” He agreed it was on the website but “didn’t know how to do it.”
He offered to “take the coupon and follow up with [his] boss — in the meantime, let’s talk financing…”
The coupon instructions state I can “check the status” of a virtual gift card via mygiftcardstatus.com: it’s been 2 weeks and my coupon is still “not marked as confirmed by dealership.” I dropped by the dealership and the sales agent said he didn’t know where the coupon was, but if I wanted the car he’d take $50 off his best price for me.
I went back to the website and got the same pop-up and looked at the HTML source. It’s from “dealerinspire.com” and the coupon was served from “incentivesnetwork.net”.
What’s the right way to do this?
I didn’t do my diligence with Subaru’s and so I didn’t get paid out because they obviously dropped the ball and I didn’t follow up. Hyundai was my second try… I knew the ins and outs by then, and I got it in a few days!
