There are a lot of Mail In Rebate (MIR) out there for products that are free. The MIR Money Making Game is when you can stack up multiple rebates and actually make money from the products you are buying. Whether you are adding in an extra coupon or having an upgraded rebate, you can actually make money by buying certain products. If you are going to play this MIR game, I suggest to set up a excel spreadsheet so you can keep track of all rebates. Because many times, you might have to give them a phone call just to make sure the rebates are being fulfilled.
Okay, enough blabbing..Lets hustle!
Item 1: CA Anti-Virus 2007
- Order this Anti-Virus 2007 from TigerDirect
- There are 3 MIR Rebates: $10 CA Rebate, $20 CA Rebate, $40 CA Upgrader Rebate
- There is also an extra $30 rebate you can find at Carerebatecenter.com, then search for offer number 07-75279
- Math: $30 – $10 – $20 – $40 – $30 = $70 Profit
**for upgrader rebate, you must have similar product such as Norton, etc.
Item 2: Symantec Norton Confidential at Office Depot
- You must buy this item at the Office Depot store in order to get an extra Rebate.
- So visit the store, then use this $10 off 20 Office Max Rebate. Yes, Office Depot take competitor coupon.
- Use Ink coupons if you have those too. So item is $50 – $10 coupon = $40
- Fill out these three Rebates: $30 Norton Rebate, $30 OD Norton Rebate, $20 Upgrader Norton Rebate
- Math: $50 item – $10 coupon – $30 Rebate – $30 OD Rebate – $20 upgrader = $40 Profit

Thanks Tim for pointing it out. The link has been updated.
No, I just ordered the CA AV for $29.99 at TigerDirect.com. The $69.99 product is the CA Internet Security, which is not eligible for the rebate. I don’t think Hustler’s link is working right. Search the TigerDirect.com website for “CA07-3150”, which is their SKU for the CA AV product.
The Internet Security product SKU is a VERY similar “CA07-5150” – so beware.
The CA Anti-Virus 2007 now costs $69.99, which drops the profit on that one to $0.01 (a shade more if you use a cashback card of course).
Note that you should be using a reward credit card to buy these items, so you get that as well. At Office Depot, use your AmEx Simply Cash card to get another 5% rebate! That will give you another $2 profit on the Symantec Norton Confidential, and 5% on any of the other recommended Office Depot deals, so they also become better-than-free.
